Voluntary Assisted Return and Reintegration of Russian Nationals Staying with Irregular Status in the European Countries

The purpose of this program is to develop effective mechanisms for and to provide assistance in the voluntary return from the European countries, as well as in the follow-up reintegration in the country of origin, to the individuals staying with irregular status in the European countries (unsuccessful asylum seekers). The program foresees the provision of information and counseling to the said category of persons on their return options, reliable and objective information about the situation in their country of origin, and also the arrangements for their return and reintegration in their home country.

From January to December 2008 IOM Moscow provided assistance in voluntary return to 1304 Russian nationals from Austria (200 persons), Belgium (176), Czech Republic (4), Finland (4), Ireland (2), Norway (46), Poland (857), Switzerland (11) and the Great Britain (4). Reintegration assistance was provided to 111 persons.
